Beach Shopping

OK…I KNOW you were expecting quaint little cottages sprinkled along a cobblestone walk facing the ocean and brimming full of fun girly, beachy things that are simply irresistible…!!! 
Well, this is not on the beach but close by. All I could say was…WOW…!!! What a Fun Shopping experience this was…
AND LOOK….There WERE Cobblestone Streets…and we got to park on them. Huge terracotta pots lined the walks along side the tall Palm Trees with benches and tables everywhere for taking time out to sip something cold or just enjoy Being There…!!! 
And on top of all this, you can actually LIVE THERE….Yes, look at all the cozy places located up above all these wonderful shops.
I’d have a tough time choosing between the one above Barnes and Noble….OR….My Favorite place to find so many things I LOVE……Athropologie… 
Seriously, I’d stay Broke living above That Store…LOL….Guess it would make a nice part time job though…:) And just down the street a bit another YUMMY Boutique…Dixie Divas…Now that’s a nice Match for ME…!!!

As I said…They have Everything….Speaking of having Everything, My “Grown Up” Granddaughter will be starting college there this fall and SHE got a “Spoiled Girl Surprise” for graduation…

Yep, it’s HERS….and it didn't take long after Orientation Day to find all the College Stuff that clearly says….Hey, I’m a College Girl….!!! And HER  license plate says it all…She Hearts her Dad.
 But the Best Deal of all is that HER college is located in this Beach Town…SO you know what that means, yes you guessed it.  We have an excuse to Come Here more often, of course to visit my granddaughter and Shhhhh….let me whisper…shop…:)..!!!
 

Gotta run for now, BUT….My Surprise is coming Real Soon….In only a day or two. So come on back. You don’t want to Miss It….:)  AND I DO have some quaint Beach Homes to share.

Change is coming

Yes, that’s right. It’s TIME…..:) A new look is on the way and I’m SO excited…!!! And I just can’t wait to SHOW YOU...:) I’m a little nervous though, because I want YOU to LOVE it as much as I do. I wanted something ORIGINAL that looked liked ME. AND…it’s REALLY tough being ORIGINAL these days. With so many wonderful creative blogging souls out here in blogland.

After MANY MONTHS of Thinking and Planning, I found my way HOME and LOVE my new little warm happy spot online. I hope YOU will Love it too.

Soooo…..Should I give you a HINT..!!!! Ummmm, lets just say…..It’s HAPPY….Fun and full of surprises...and will make you feel at HOME…:)

The proof is on the tag

OK…I guess most of you are thinking by now that I must be tired of blogging and have just vanished or quit. But….that’s NOT TRUE and I have PROOF….!!!
See there…..I DO still HEART my blog….!!!! This is my new license plate. And it’s now on my car for me to TELL THE WORLD….I LOVE my Blog…:)
I’m so sorry I’ve been MIA most of this year. Business comes first you know and we have been super busy. Good news though….I get to PLAY next week…:) At the Beach..!!! With all my girls…!!! I can’t wait. Ok, I KNOW what you’re thinking. This means I won’t be around in blogland for yet another week or more. Don’t worry, I’ll be back soon. I hope YOU still HEART MY BLOG too.. and will keep stopping by. I PROMISE to get back REAL SOON….PROMISE…!!! Cross my HEART….

I have a little challenge for you. Here goes…..If YOU happen to see ME on the road somewhere and contact me and tell me WHERE I was…..Day and Time…..I’ll send YOU a Surprise…!!!  Sorry local girls…this contest does not apply to you. I KNOW you understand….:)  The rest of you may be thinking that you will NEVER see me anywhere…..however, we make MANY MANY trips. Like next week we’re headed to the beach. So all you South Carolina and in between gals keep your eyes roving, you just might SEE ME somewhere out there….:) This will be FUN and I will honor this contest as long as I have my tags…..and I plan on keeping them for a long long time.
OK…..I have NO IDEA what I’m taking with me next week, so I better get to packing.

The Big Day

It was a bright sunny morning and I just knew it was going to be a wonderful day. We had feared rain which would have delayed the Graduation until late afternoon, causing me to MISS my other granddaughters recital taking place that night. Excitement and emotions ran high as we parked and made our way onto the grounds that were covered with beautiful white tents, lush green arches with yellow roses. We found second row seats and WAITED for it all to begin. Soon we heard the bagpipes and knew THEY were close by….:)

And there SHE was……

A few introductions and speeches later, the moment SHE had worked 13 years for finally came. It was HER turn to step up on that stage……
 
Then  SHE was handed her diploma…..:) YES, it REALLY happened…She’s 18 and officially a college student.
 

 
Soon it was time to CELEBRATE…….the service was over and a Big Future awaits…..

AND….There SHE goes….:)
 
All that was left was HUGS and Congrats. The school provided a big reception held on the grounds under a gazebo. It was so nice and beautiful. And Cameras, cameras, Everywhere…!!!

All that was left were empty seats and MEMORIES of years of growing up….friendships made…and plans for an exciting future. SHE is stepping into the Big World now and WE will be right there beside HER helping her along the way. One day SHE will be helping US….:)

After many many hugs and wishes, pictures taken with friends and teachers, we went to HER favorite place for lunch and then it was TIME to make the hour drive for Cassie and Carlys dance recital.  Just how much can a Gran take in…..All in ONE DAY….!!!

My cup was running OVER….:) And I LOVED every moment…. We arrived home some time after midnight and I went to sleep with a Swollen Heart and a Big Smile…:)  Life IS good..!!!
Next, we’re having a party….On Sunday evening at Mallorys. So come on over, you’re invited….!!! It promises to be lots of Fun...

My Cup Runneth over

Last week was one filled with so many emotions and my heart was Swollen with Pride...!!! You see, my little Mallory graduated from high school. Yes, it’s true. It’s still hard to believe but it REALLY happened….And on top of that, it was also Cassie and Carlys Dance Recital and then Mallorys graduation party….Two many Good Things….all at the same time. I will break these up a bit to keep them short.   First came the service on Friday filled with awards and lots of eagerness since THIS was their LAST day of school.
 
Mallory seemed so happy and excited. But she WAS a little sad too because she really LOVES her school and will miss being there.

We are SO proud of her and Mom and Dad were all smiles knowing that their decision to enroll her in private school was a very wise decision.

After the ceremony, we were all invited to the Country Club for lunch.

It was beautiful inside. They had a table set up with gifts for each senior all wrapped up in school colors and so pretty.
  
Mallory and some friends waited out in the hallways for more guest to arrive. They giggled and smiled and couldn’t help but show their excitement.

The dining room, well actually there were several of them, was so pretty and inviting.

And the tables were set up with grace and charm…:)

 

  

 

 

 

 

 

 

It was so nice spending time with family and friends and a few others that we had an opportunity to meet….:)
  

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dessert was a delicious cake made for the graduates.
 

After dessert, the gifts were handed out and it was time to go. Just to return in the morning for the
BIG Ceremony….Graduation….!!!!

I’m breaking this Very Long post into three or more. It’s too much to put into ONE…:)  I’ll post more tonight.

Windows Live Writer Test

I’ve had SO many problems with posting over the past year that it turned my Love and Passion of my new found hobby, into a dreaded chore…!!!!  Although Typepad is aware of these problems and are still trying to get them all ironed out, it has caused me to NOT want to blog. After another “difficult day” of trying to post and contacting Typepad once again, they have suggested Windows Live Writer..

SO…..Here I sat with my new found blogging friend….I hope…and I’m taking it for a “Test Drive”….IF….it is user friendly and WORKS….then maybe, just maybe YOU will be seeing MORE of ME now…!!!! Keep those fingers crossed, because I have “NO IDEA” what’s going to happen once I hit that PUBLISH BUTTON…LOL

IF….it all looks good and works, then I think we can safely say…..The Desperate Diva is back…!!! Wish me luck, because I MISS YOU so very much and have so many New things to share with YOU… Ok, looks like I’ll need to do some adjusting on text colors, etc.  For now, lets see if this WORKS..!!!!

An Unexpected Rose

When the phone rang and my daughter told me they were just minutes away and little Katie was expecting a TEA PARTY, I quickly begin searching for whatever I could find to set it all up before she arrived. Then  the door bell rang with the most beautiful ROSE I've ever seen....:) It was my God Son, his wife and their precious little ROSE. Not quite two years old, there she stood. I'd only seen her one time when she was only a few weeks old. My Mothers Day was off to a great start. Katie had a new friend to share her tea party with.
 They both seemed to really like each other and were thrilled with the tea party treats that I desperately pulled together. They giggled and smiled as they loaded their plates with apple sticks, chocolate sugar, cheese, crackers and cake.
Just LOOK at that face....Little Rose was so excited about the tea party.

And Katie didn't mind "sharing" her Gran....OR her tea party...They both were So Adorable.....
 Here SHE was....this precious little girl whose Grandmother was my Best Friend. Sadly, we lost her at only 39 years old. Her name was Roseann.....And Rose was named after her.
 Rose looks so much like Roseann....oh how the "Circle of Life" repeats itself.....
 And I just KNEW that this moment for ME was meant to be...I was given the gift of "spoiling" HER, even though it was for just  a short time.

Rose and Katie sipped their tea like little ladies and we soaked in every moment of the magic that they were sharing.....:)
 Manners didn't matter today. NO...we were having TOO much FUN...!!!
 
And all these sweet treats....Before....our Mothers Day Lunch...!!! Talk about a "Sugar Rush"....!!! But SO worth it....:)
 As they slowly filled up..... the tea party ended....with sticky fingers and full tummies...I glanced up at the beautiful sky above, and said....Yes Roseann, THIS tea was for YOU...!!!   For YOU and YOUR beautiful Granddaugher....:)
 With more family waiting to spend their time with Rose, it was time to say our goodbyes.....Katie and Rose gave each other a BIG HUG...Oh so sweet....:)
And a Hug for Mallory.....
 Thank You Jon and Krystal for giving me one of the most treasured Mothers Day gifts ever....What a wonderful "Unexpected Rose"....!!! I had ALL my girls...my wondeful son in laws, the sweetest hubby ever...my God Son and God Granddaughter and most of all, MY MOTHER.  Life is good....and so the cirlce continues....:)

Happy Mothers Day

I just couldn't end my day without wishing ALL of my dear sweet friends a very Happy Mothers Day....I hope YOUR DAY is filled with Family.....Food....and lots of Sweet Wishes and Hugs....!!!
 And .....I know a secret...!!!  A lucky Mom near me, will be getting THIS pretty "Cake Stand" from HER sweet daughter....:)  SHE came by today to pick it up from me. I sweetened it up a bit with green dot ribbon to make it JUST RIGHT.... HER MOM will be SO surprised. I know she will LOVE IT...:)
 If YOU have a pretty CAKE STAND or special plate that you LOVE...don't tuck it away in the cupboard. Keep it out where you can see it and enjoy it everyday....I placed some flowers on this one with a little jar of "Strawberry and Chocolate Sugar" and a carrot handle cake server. Then I snapped a few picutures before SHE arrived to take it away.... See how pretty it looks sitting out.....Oh So Charming....!!!!
 My sweet daughter and granddaughter and son-in-law came over tonight and my hubby cooked dinner for us. We dined and relaxed out on the porch.....Ahaaaaa....I SO needed that. They gave me  a gift certificate for a facial and pedicure and a brand new pair of PJ's......What else could a Desperate Gal need....THANK you Missy, Mallory and Nick.... 

My sweet hubby gave me a vase full of beautiful flowers....THANK YOU honey...:) You're the BEST....!!!!

OK...It's after midnight and officially MOTHERS DAY....

It's time for CHANGE...:)

Hello to all my sweet blogging friends and visitors. As you know, I've been MIA for sometime now andI MISS you terribly...:( This Desperate gal has been working so very hard this entire year with NO TIME TO PLAY....!!!  It's been tough finding blogging time lately and I'm going NUTS with ideas to share with you.

BUT...I do have a Big Surprise for you...Yes, I do...:)  You will have to wait just a wee bit longer though.  I'll be making some changes to my blog and when this happens, you will need to "Subscribe to ME" all over again....Now that's not too much to ask from you is it.

Don't do it just yet. I'll be announcing it right here when you will need to do that. So stay tuned and remember I'm working very hard to get you some GOOD STUFF coming your way. I promise...It Will be Worth It...:)
